In this case study, we highlight a recent transformation delivered by Greener Places at Herringthorpe Junior School in Rotherham. The project involved replacing the existing surface, with the goal of creating a more durable and visually appealing environment for the school. As part of the transformation, PERMABOUND’s help was required.
The existing surface at Herringthorpe Junior School was in need of replacement, creating an opportunity for PERMABOUND's Soft Gravel to improve the appearance of the outdoor area. The school needed a new surface that would provide flexibility, durability and also create a more welcoming environment for the children. Greener Places needed to find a suitable surfacing solution that could withstand regular use within a busy school area while still offering an attractive finish. After careful consideration, PERMABOUND’s Soft Gravel was selected in the Gold/Black colour, providing a hard wearing and attractive surface that was well suited to the transformation of the existing surface.
The installation was carried out by Greener Places at Herringthorpe Junior School in Rotherham, covering a total area of 150m². The existing surface was replaced as part of the transformation, creating a pathway and recreational space.
PERMABOUND Soft Gravel in the Gold/Black colour was selected for the new surface, providing an attractive finish that complements the surrounding environment. The combination of colours gives the area a modern and natural appearance, while the durable surface provides a practical solution suited to regular use within a busy school setting.
As Soft Gravel is highly permeable, weather resistant and naturally non-slip, it provides a practical and durable surface for the school, while also helping to create a safer environment for the children. The completed installation has transformed the existing area, creating a more visually appealing space for the children while providing a long lasting surface for everyday use.
Greener Places delivered a transformation at Herringthorpe Junior School, replacing the existing surface with 150m² of PERMABOUND Soft Gravel in the Gold/Black colour. The new pathway leads from the school down to a dedicated seating area, centred around a large tree with new wooden benches and seating pods surrounding it. The space provides a welcoming area for pupils to socialise, relax and take part in outdoor learning, creating a practical and inviting addition to the school grounds.
