PERMABOUND were proud to attend this year’s Sheffield Rugby Club’s Lewis Moody Summer Ball on Friday evening. The evening was in honour of the Lewis Moody Foundation, raising vital funds for Motor Neurone Disease research and support. It was an unforgettable Friday night as over 300 guests gathered for an evening full of laughter, entertainment and fundraising for a brilliant cause.
The evening began with a special introductory video from Lewis Moody himself, who spoke about the strong connection between his foundation and Sheffield Rugby Club, before discussing raising awareness and fundraising for MND. Following this, Professor Dame Pamela Shaw, Director of the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN), gave fascinating insight into the groundbreaking research underway to find a cure for motor neurone disease.
As the evening continued, guests enjoyed a hilarious Q&A session hosted by Tom Croft, Geordan Murphy and Leon Lloyd. The trio are Trustees of the Lewis Moody Foundation and, at the time of writing, are currently participating in the 500-mile bike ride for the My Names Doddie Charity with Lewis himself.
Overall, the night was a huge success, and as Pamela herself stated, ‘progress to find the cure has been made and further progress will be made possible with nights like Friday’.
Friday night was just another example of the growing relationship between Sheffield Rugby Club and PERMABOUND. Following a superb season where we supported the club in becoming a shirt sponsor and sponsoring the league’s top try scorer, Chris Hooper, we were delighted to play a part in helping the club raise funds for such a worthy cause.
If you are able, please consider donating to support the ongoing work in the fight against motor neurone disease. Every contribution helps to fund vital research and bring us one step closer to finding a cure. Below are the links to the fundraising pages for all of the guests from Friday night’s Summer Ball who are taking on the bike ride from Newcastle to Twickenham.
